Teen age nieces spent all day on Christmas Day playing this... they love it, and try to out-do one another and their friends. Of course, if you haven't seen the movie, you can't even play it cause you'd be lost.... not educational, but at least they enjoyed it and it wasn't electronic!

Great game, if you're a fan you shouldn't be disappointed. I only spent like $5 on this game so how could I be disappointed? There are some pretty cheesey cards, that we'll be removing from our deck, but other than that it's a good game.

However I hate to say this did not appear to seem to be in new condition. 1)i ordered this Dec.15. 2) received it Dec.17. 3)I opened this before christmas to make sure all the pieces were inside.4)My box was damaged. 5)It had a big bent mark on the back. When i took the plastic off from the box. 6)There were cuts on the game board. 7)Box containing everything inside was all squashed and dented up really bad. 8) Could not return item because i wouldn't have it for christmas in time. P.S. very upset about this item it looks like it has been returned before and just rewrapped and i ordered this product as new.

I'm not sure what the people who gave this game positive reviews are thinking. The creators of this game put no thought into it at all. You simply go around the board answering random trivia questions about New Moon. There is no rhyme or reason to anything. The questions are all random throughout, and have no correlation to where you are on the board. Purchased for a huge twilight fan, 14 years old, and she agreed game is TERRIBLE! Game is so bad I'm paying $6 to return a $[...] item, meaning it would only cost me $7 to keep it, but I never want to see this again. What a waste of time.

"Great Game for Young Kids" 2010-01-22
By M. Randall (Oregon)
My mom bought this game so her grandkids would have something fun to play while visiting her house. My boys (ages 5 and 7) asked to borrow it two weeks ago and we have yet to return it. They play it multiple times daily and enjoy it every single time. I don't mind playing it with them either. I don't think I would want to play it every day with them, but it's such a simple game that they can play it by themselves, no problem. It's great for counting practice and number recognition, and the aphids and praying mantis make it interesting. Overall great game for young kids and a great, affordable gift idea!

It's great for him to count out how many spaces he has to move his game piece, and he is learning to recognize numbers. the numbers are printed VERY large on the cards, and so we are teaching him to recognize them.

I would recommend this to anyone with a 3-4 year old.

By S. L. Mueller (Almaden Valley)
I played Ticket to Ride with four of our grandchildren - aged 7 to 14. We played steadily for half the day and had fun. The eager-beaver middle child learned about hanging on to cards and building up long suits in order to score more points - as opposed to immediate gratification by gaining small distances and getting fewer points. That seemed like a good lesson.

By K. Murphy (USA)
This is a great game. My ten-year old loves it! He is a board game officianado, though, and wins most board games he plays, even with adults. This version of Monopoly is a little more involved than the regular game. It is much more involved than Monopoly Junior. I would say that overall it would be a good game for 12 and up, or for those of you whose children are a little obsessed over board games and money!!!!

 "Terrible!" 2010-01-18
By moflaher (CALIFORNIA)
First, I really like Monopoly. Second, I am a true game player. I have played hundreds of games. This one stinks. It is obvious Hasbro is simply looking for more ways to cash in on Monopoly. Aside from lacking balance, there are many flaws (see all the other reviews) and several items in the game that simply don't make since - like give your district (property) back?! The rules have several holes as well.

With that said, the biggest problem with this game is quality! Wow, all the money, property , and chance cards were all poorly cut - part of the text was cut off on everything. The ink on the district cards (property) was awful! How do you make a game so that the mfg cost is around a buck and sell it for over $30? Just ask Hasbro. This is the cheapest, poorest quality game I have ever purchased! It is obvious Hasbro is looking for cheap ways to cash in. Simply poor.

"Prefer the old style monopoly" 2010-01-07
By kiwi girl (New Zealand)
Based on reviews I bought this version of Monopoly. I have a 10 year old who loves playing the classic version. However I found that it was more complicated than the old style monopoly, takes longer to play.As mentioned before the layout where you put the buildings etc on areas of the board that are not neccessarily near the district you own makes it very counter intuitive. We find the fun of monopoly is having to work towards building hotels and collecting sets of street cards.

I prefer the old style monopoly, it's more straight forward, it's still a lot of fun even if you have played it a lot of times before. Can't really add much more than what other reviewers have said.

"a game for 2 players as well" 2010-01-09
By toomanyhobbies (Owosso, MI)
We absolutely love this game which does require problem-solving and strategic thinking. The age of the game was 8+. We have an 8 year old and after three hands in which we finally figured out the rules he was done playing. I would suggest practicing the game before introducing the younger players to the game. It is not a game in which you get the entire plan in just one game. In each of the first three games we encountered different situations that required a look at the directions. It is addicting and after we played the 'practice games', the adults continued on for the entire afternoon. It is a game we will be introducing to others.

"Great fast way for everyone to play Monopoly" 2010-01-08
By salsaguy (So. Cal)
I got this (as well as the Scrabble Slam game) as a gift to give my sister and her kids for Christmas because they love to play games together. I picked up a set for myself and family as well. We absolutely LOVE this game and are addicted to it. Its our new FAVORITE to play together. It is still completely competitive like the normal Monopoly and cut-throat, trying to out-smart your opponents. A lot of different new cards to learn but its easy. Just play it together openly a few times to learn the cards and help each other and then play for real. Just read the cards. If you can read you can play. It goes pretty quick (about 20-40 mins per game) depending on how many play.

Its full of twists and turns so no game is the same.

There are a few rules that are not 100% clear or specifically stated in the rules. You may have to make up some on our own to cover any special situations.

Cards can get bent easily if not taken care of and then it makes it very hard to shuffle or have the desk sit flat and not accordion on you. We put the draw deck in 2 piles to help solve this so they dont fall over.

I got the version that DIDNT come with the card shuffler/holder. Wish I knew about that one as it would be nice to have as the cardboard box it comes in will tear/rip easily after a few opens/closes. You may have to put them in a zip lock bag to store them if this happens. If you have young kids, the cards may get lost so maybe think about getting the other version with the plastic holder/shaker. (I cant comment on the quality of that since I dont own it).

All in all a GREAT game.

If you have folks that HATE Monopoly because it takes too long, THIS game will change their mind and they will enjoy it for sure.

Just get it and have LOTS of fun with your family and friends trying to dominate each other in this fast and fun game.

Enjoy

"Great Game - Not So Great Instructions" 2010-01-06
By D. Jones (Taylors, SC USA)
This is the most fun card game I have ever played. However, since I am a stickler for the rules of play, my only problem with this game is the instructions (or should I say, the lack of instructions). I actually called the 800 number for clarification. Believe it or not, the person answering my call knew the answer to my questions. One such question was, "If player 'A' plays an action card and an opponent plays a 'Just Say No' card, and player 'A' counters his opponents 'Just Say No' card with his/her own 'Just Say No' card, does player 'A' have to count his/her 'Just Say No' card as one of the three plays?" The answer is no, since player 'A' is still playing off of his/her original action card.

If you want more depth to Monopoly Deal then try scoring the game instead of ending it when three sets are collected and played. Decide on a winning score or let the winner be the player with the most money at the end of a set number of rounds (a round being over once someone plays three sets). Every player adds up the value of every card in his/her bank at the end of each round. The player with the three sets also gets to count his total property value. (All properties are counted whether or not they are part of a set). Only the player who plays the 'round ending' three sets gets to add his property value to his bank total. Only cards that are played are counted with no penalty for cards left in your hand.

Have fun!!

"Hours of fun for a low price!!!" 2010-01-02
By H. Taylor
We purchased this game as a Christmas gift for a Monopoly lover. We decided it looked like a lot of fun. We then purchased the game for ourselves. The children have played it constantly since we have purchased it. At first the directions seemed confusing. However, once we started playing it, we quickly figured it out. A game can be completed usually in less than half an hour. We play this game usually with 4 or 5 people. The game can get quite loud from the stealing and dealing. From all our playing, the cards are beginning to bend. This is one of our favorite most played games - and we have only had it for a couple of days.

 "Fun & Engaging" 2010-01-01
By Tiger (San Jose, CA)
This was really fun & engaging, even for adults. There is some strategy to the game so it keeps me engaged. Some games like this have no strategy or only one strategy and get boring very quickly or are only for younger players. But this one was quite entertaining for the wife and I to play over some holidays.

With 2 players, the game plays out a little differently with different odds perhaps since there is only one other player to charge rent to or steal cards from. Some other reviews mentioned that there was too much money in the game and suggested buying 2 sets and mixing in the rent cards from the 2nd set to even it out. I bought 2 and am still happy I did, but haven't used the other set yet. I found this unecessary for 2-player games. We run low on money a lot and end up losing properties which is fun. There are many times that you cash pile can run short and if someone plays a rent card on an expensive set or with a double the rent card, or compounded with Debt Collector cards on the same turn you can lose (or gain) a lot of properties. My cash pile tends to have 2M to 10M, and is tough to withstand a 5M debt collector cards and an 8M or 12M rent request. All cards have a cash value, including properties. When you run out of cash, you have to hand out your properties to fill the gap.

However the first big thing we had to change was to remove the two "Deal Breaker" cards which allow you to steal any full set of properties from another player. This really ruined the fun of a number of games because it turns 2-player games into pure luck. Basically these worked out to be instant win cards. You win if you got one before the other player. It felt like such shallow wins that I didn't even like winning because it defeated all other strategy and plans. So we removed them and have a lot of fun.

So we find this quite fun for 2 adults. It doesn't demand strategy so don't think of this as a strategy game other than it keeps you enganged. Again, I recommend removing the two "Deal Breaker" cards which zaps all the fun for us after we played it a few times.
