 "My Grandkids love it!" 2009-12-26
By Patricia Susan (Smalltown, Oklahoma)
This is a new twist to the old game of Guess Who. With the old style faces, kids, animals and appliances, each child has their favorite. We still tend to use the old faces the most. The animals and appliances are harder for a younger child to ask questions about the face, this needs improvement. But the kids and the older faces are easier. My grandkids love Guess Who and we have played many hours. One suggestion to maker---use more girls in the pictures, make them a little more equal in numbers.

 "Guess Who Wins Again!" 2009-12-25
By Heather LaRee Carter (Central Coast, California)
Based upon how much our family always loved the original Guess Who...I ordered two of these for Christmas gifts. Our 10 year old nephew was ecstatic (the lights and noises are JOY for a 10 year old boy). He played with his Mom, his 25 year old cousin and they LOVED it too. The Mom said that the lights/noises aren't needed to play ~ so when adults play and wish not to have the KID sounds...you CAN play without them. Everyone really liked all the various options AND that the original characters are still available. The game is designed so that it can store self-contained - another perk our nephew liked.

 "Fabulous Upgrade" 2009-12-09
By Z. VAZQUEZ
The upgrade is fabulous. You are no longer picking cards from a pile which wear and tear. Now you have six different cards with like 24 different faces to choose from. You will not get tired for a long while. Now they even have the buzzer with interesting sounds for "yes" and "no". We have a seven and eight year old and they truly love it. It is more durable and much more fun than the regular 'Guess Who'. Great upgrade and will keep kids entertained for hours. They have animals, 'interesting' faces, the regular suspects, appliances, robots, etc. A card for almost any gender, age, and interest. Two thumbs up.

I was going to buy the "Adivina Quien" game, which is the Spanish version of Guess Who? but found this. For about $10 more you get 5 more character option pages. This is excellent for foreign language students to practice colors, people traits, etc. My students have enjoyed asking the questions in Spanish.

This game is great fun and is a card game that we have been playing for at least the last 5 years. It has such a nice variety to it and is also great for teaching kids to count, to organize items, and to develop strategies to help them go out each hand and to compete is pleasant fun. It has become a "MUST HAVE" for anyone that we introduce it to. The only problem is that I bought this at Toys R Us and you can never find it there at the store. This keeps others from buying it and enjoying it. Thank goodness for Amazon.com-it was here that we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised to find it. We not only ordered 2 decks for ourselves but one for a gift for someone for Christmas.

We were introduced to this game by my in-laws. It is really a fun game and not like anything I'd ever played before. It was easy to catch-on to. Our 7 year old picked it up pretty easily, although she needs a little coaching now and then, and our 10 year old totally understands it. It is a good work-out for your brain as every round changes just a little. It isn't a fast game, but it is really fun.

I bought this card game for my grandson who just turned nine in November. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we played cards every day and he really enjoyed it. Since this is another take on rummy with runs and sets but with a revolving wild card it keeps you alert and into the game. For children and adults who like to play cards, it is definitely a good value.

Scene It? The Simpsons Deluxe Edition

Buy Cheap Scene It? The Simpsons Deluxe Edition

Buy Low Price From Here Now

From the game pieces to the trivia cards, every aspect of Scene It? has been infused with the charm and humor of The Simpsons. The game begins with you choosing one of four collectible tokens to represent your team. Sculpted out of metal, these tokens have been modeled after some of the show's most recognizable icons: the family TV, the Springfield power plant, the three-eyed fish, and a slushie cup. The game board is collapsible and features two sizes, giving you the option of playing a 15-minute quick game or a 40-minute extended game.

Teams advance around the board by answering two types of questions: traditional trivia cards and DVD-based puzzles. The trivia cards, which resemble what you might find in Trivial Pursuit, come in three different categories: green "general" questions, orange "song/dialogue" questions, and yellow "pop culture" questions. They vary in difficulty, and some of the tougher questions are challenging enough to stump even the most fervent Simpsons fans.

The main attraction, however, is the interactive DVD. Featuring hundreds of video clips, sound bites, and images from the show, the DVD challenges you to solve brain-teasing Simpsons puzzles. With a variety of different puzzle categories, the DVD puts your knowledge of The Simpsons to the test. Categories include "Krusty's Cartoon Cut 'Em Ups," where you must identify a character based on a distorted image, and "Blank-Diddly Blank," which challenges you to decode clever wordplay.

The DVD has been designed with the fans in mind. Released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons, Scene It? is the ultimate homage to TV's most famous dysfunctional family. You'll see cameos by your favorite characters, watch video clips from classic episodes, and be treated to the Simpsons soundtrack.

With hundreds of questions, Simpsons Scene It? has something for every type of Simpsons fan. The game is difficult enough t

 "Best Scene It ever!" 2009-11-27
By Randall Barrantes Serrano (SJO, CR)
I have played other Scene it, from the original to the one they made for Seinfeld (which is very good also)... and I always though why they have not made one for The Simpsons?

Well the wait is over and the result is great, the game is just like the others, video clips, trivia questions, etc.. normally the "name the character" and the video clip based questions are easy and if you are a big Simpsons' fan you'll know the answers right away... although some of the trivia questions are really hard, but eventually you will have fun learning more stuff about the Simpsons' background.

If you are a Simpsons fan like me, then this is a must have.

"Hey What's On This Side?" 2009-11-13
By G. Goodman (Los Angeles, CA)
This is exactly what you would expect from Scene It with an all Simpsons theme. This game and a partnership with the Television show make for a nice combination. For avid fans of the Simpsons, the game is a little easy so perhaps you might make a rule that you need to have the entire name of a character (even the obscure ones) to get the answer right. The game on the disc looks solid and crisp and it does NOT look like something that was just thrown together. If you like the Simpsons or are huge fans, you won't be disappointed buying this.

"A fun, casual game exclusively for Sismpsons fans!" 2009-10-19
By Nathan Surber
Let me start by saying I'm not very familiar with the other "Scene It?" brand dvd/board games. So I can't say how this Simpsons edition compares to others. What I CAN tell you is that if you like casual trivia-based board games with a home video element AND you are a HUGE fan of The Simpsons, there is no doubt that you will love this game!

The concept is simple: up to four players (minimum 2) progress around the game board while answering various Simpsons trivia challenges until someone ends up in the winner circle. The game comes with a foldable game board, 4 player tokens (in the shape of Simpsons icons: the TV, the power plant, the 3-eyed fish, and a Slushie cup), two dice (1 typical 6-sided, 1 8-sided to draw a category), a big box of trivia cards, a small stack of "Buzz" cards, and a game dvd.

The way it works is this: players roll both dice to start their turn. Players move the number of spaces from the 6-sided dice and attempt the challenge indicated from the 8-sided dice. Two types of challenges are from the dvd, where either you or everyone (depending on the die roll) have to answer a trivia question from a variety of challenges before time runs out. Three other challenges come from the trivia cards, where one player reads the question to another player who has to answer before 30 seconds is up. Rolling a "Buzz" card means one must draw the card and either incur the penalty or reap the reward, depending on the card, similar to "Chance" cards in Monopoly. There is also a players choice on the 8-sided dice where the player may choose any challenge they please.

To make a long story short, this dvd/board game is a LOT of fun for anyone who fancies themselves a Simpsons trivia buff and enjoys a casual board game. The game is quick to learn and to start. There are enough challenges and questions to keep the game fresh and not repeat questions. It's fun with as little as two players and up to four. You are at liberty to adjust a few rules to your liking and still not ruin the game play, particularly to make shorter or longer games.

Finally, I must add one word of caution: THIS GAME IS EXCLUSIVELY FOR SIMPSONS FANS! If you never watch The Simpsons, this game is not for you. If you watch it every now and again when you happen to catch it on TV, this game is not for you. If you used to watch the show but haven't in a long time, it's not for you. This game is for die-hard fans who watch the show religiously, own the dvd sets, consistently recall the show, the jokes, and the quotes to themselves on almost a daily basis. If you LOVE LOVE LOVE The Simpsons and enjoy casual board games, you will really enjoy this game. You'll be pleased at the trivia you do recall while playing, and kicking yourself in the butt for not remembering things you thought you knew. This is a Simpsons game where you will feel very immersed in the Simpsons world and enjoy being there the whole time. If you are only a casual fan of The Simpsons, this game will be wasted on you.

 "Incredible" 2009-12-17
By Smokey DeBear (Ohio)
A wonderful game anyway you look at it. There are three things that stick out as to why this game is so good. First, the game is incredibly simple to understand, and very difficult to master. Secondly, it is for any number of players that you deem fit - I've played by myself and with up to 6 friends. Lastly, the game is incredibly addicting.

The goal is to find "sets" of three cards that are all the same or different for each of four different categories (shape, color, number and shading). With twelve cards showing, the first person to say "set" owns the set they find, removing it from the table - there are no turns, in the classical gaming sense. Replace those three cards with three new ones, and play continues. When the deck has been depleted, and there are no more sets to be found, the game is over. The person with the most sets wins! You can incur penalties along the way by claiming to find sets that are not, in fact, sets (as defined in the rules).

The only thing I see being an issue in the coming years is the durability of the game. It is a card game, and the cards (like any other playing card) can show wear over time. I can see it lasting for at least a couple of years, and if you play it enough at that point, just purchase another one if your cards are not holding up (the game is very cheap!). One good thing is that the cards are held in a very nice plastic container which protects the cards incredibly well. This will result in the cards lasting longer than a typical deck of cards, as you can store it anywhere without fear of the cards getting dinged up when not using them.

The game play is seamless, and can be incredibly taxing - not to mention sometimes frustrating - on the brain at times! This game really makes you think, and do so quickly if playing against others. This game is a great way to keep your mind sharp, while having fun. I would recommend this game to anyone, even people who are not regular game players. Give this game a try, you will not be disappointed - especially considering the low price tag.

 "really great easel" 2009-12-15
By Lilly's mom (Los Angeles)
first, there is NO PROBLEM with the chalkboard. the critical review about the chalkboard was dated 2007 and clearly the company has made changes, because right out of the box the chalkboard was fabulous.

second, the easel was pretty easy to set up.

third, i appreciate the ability to set the boards at different heights. but note: if you have a little toddler (mine is 19mos) it will take some time before they can reach the upper half of the boards even at the lowest setting. still, not a big deal.

so far, my daughter is really enjoying it. we bought the easel, companion pack, smock, and extra paper. a toddler's delight!

**my only negative critique is that the paint isn't very washable (i have had to water it down a little and add some liquid dish soap to the paint to ameliorate this problem).

 "Nephew loved it!" 2009-12-11
By Dr. Mom (Pennsylvania)
I bought this for my nephew's 4th birthday and he loved it! It took a little time to put together (so you may want to set it up ahead of the present-opening), but the plastic "nuts" that fasten the screws to the frame are easy to use, cute and safe.

I liked that the easel can be set to different heights to grow with the child and that changing heights is simple.

The easel is sturdy and will clearly last until my nephew outgrows it and hands it down to his brother.

My nephew and my 3 year old son spent quite a while drawing on the dry erase board and the chalk board the night of the party. Paper feeds through easily for painting and clips make it easy to hold paper in place, as well and hang projects to dry. Trays on both sides are handy for craft material.

Overall, I'm glad that I found this product and know that my nephew will continue to enjoy it. We have a cheaper easel and home, and now I'm jealous that I don't have this one.

I bought this for my daughter over a year ago and the legs snapped just under the bins a week after buying it and she hadn't even used it yet. So, now we lean it against the wall and just flip it depending on the side she wants to use. The chalk board is difficult to write on and the knobs keep coming loose on their own so they need constant re-tightening. I wanted a nice looking easel that would last, but I should have bought one of those bright plastic obnoxious versions instead.

One of the modern classic board games. This game is very deep, despite the simple concept. There is a great amount of skill involved. The downside is the trays for the pieces are cheap egg shell thick plastic and the pieces themselves appear to be fragile, though I haven't broken any thus far.

You can teach this game to someone in five minutes and play a whole game in half an hour. It is a great party game and good for introducing people who aren't really "into" more complicated board games to the genre of table game playing. I would recommend it as an addition for any board game collection, but it got only four stars from me because my husband (who loves the more complicated games) often tires of it and will not play. So be advised, most people will love it, some people will rapidly get bored when playing because of the simplicity.

The very simple game play mechanics make it easy for people of all ages to understand. And don't think just because you're older that you can beat younger players. We've all been trumped by our 6 year old. Playing with 3 players is possible, but it is funnest as a 2 or 4 player game.
