This is the same game as the original Boggle except for the contained parts- no more lost dice! The other feature is the timer. For children who are "rushed" by the ticking timer, this one is worth the money. When the timer does go off it is not obnoxious either- double bonus. Very portable and highly educational. We love this version.

I grew up with the old box that was really loud when you shook the dice up. This new version is really convenient and quiet. The only thing I didn't like is the red blinking light that blinks faster when the time is almost up. It made me anxious about the buzzer going off and would screw up my game. Or at least that is what I blame my low scoring rounds on.

This portable version of Boggle is awesome. My 6 year old loves playing this game and it has become a great educational toy because he is learning spelling very well and I am finding out how much he already knows. He has to really focus and find the words and that is beneficial as well. I really like the incorporated timer in it.

I loved Boggle as a kid, and was happy that a friend gave my son the game for his birthday. Unfortunately, this 'new, improved' version is a far cry from the original. The dice get stuck on top of one another when shaken (very frustrating, time-consuming, and NOT fun), and the interior plastic is so scratched after owning the game for just two weeks, that it is very difficult now to see the letters. Also, because the top of the letter cubes are level with the top of the game, it is impossible to play in a group without everyone leaning over the game, making it difficult for everyone to see it at the same time. The built-in timer is nice, but that's the only thing it has going for it. Go for the more simple, original version instead. I expect that we will be unable to use this after a few more rounds, due to the scratching.

I had a older version of Boggle that I like better. It did not have the plastic cover over it. I prefer not to have the plastic (permanent) cover.
