"Bought as a trip down memory lane but so boring" 2010-01-17
By C. Freyer (San Francisco, CA, USA)
Bought this thinking it would be entertaining with my 4YO. She grabs the pieces out without buzzing about 50% of the time, the new features of the coughs and other noises are annoying (to me; she finds them mildly amusing), the game is cheaply made, and although I was thinking that all of this would be fun because it would remind me of how much fun I had playing the game as a kid, not so. It's just such an annoying game. Get Labyrinth Junior, Clue, Sorry, Pop Up Pirate, or even Hungry Hungry Hippos.

 "Poor Quality" 2010-01-04
By Brit abroad - NJ (NJ USA)
Prior to ordering this game I had read a previous review indicating the poor quality and wish I had taken notice. Like the other reviewer the game did not work out of the box. Again it would appear to be some issue with the tweezers. A big Christmas day disappointment for my daughter. It is very cheap and nasty and not at all the quality that I recall as a child.

 "a classic" 2010-01-01

Goofy sound effects are ok, but the kids seem to like them. Lots of new and different things to pick out of the patient. Easy for young children too.

"An oldie but a goodie, but missing some pieces" 2009-12-30
By Jive Turkey (Rogers, AR)
Got this game for my daughters (5 and 3yrs old) as one of their Xmas gifts. They think it's a riot. I had the original operation game when I was a little girl, and this new version looks a tad... cheaper. It just doesn't look as sturdy as the original game back in the 80s. What irked me the most though, is that when I opened it, there were 3 pieces missing. There is supposed to be a bag of 3 internal pieces, but for some reason they were left out. Anyhoo, I called the Hasbro toll free number (it's listed in the instruction booklet) and talked with a friendly rep who said she would send out the missing pieces to me. I got my operation game at Toys R Us for a steal: $7.99.
